Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Power, Mining and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index gained 1.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were ROSSETI PJSC (MCX:FEES), which unchanged 3.60% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.07 at the close. Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) added 3.33% or 477.00 points to end at 14,800.00 and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) was up 3.05% or 0.24 points to 8.11 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC (MCX:GMKN), which lost 0.83% or 0.90 points to trade at 106.90 in late trade. NOVATEK PJSC (MCX:NVTK) declined 0.48% or 4.00 points to end at 829.20 and PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:PHOR) shed 0.30% or 17.00 points to 5,602.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 193 to 47 and 13 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 0.69% to 46.70.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.87% or 23.01 to $2,682.61 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.37% or 0.92 to hit $68.12 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.79 to trade at $71.91 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.00% to 100.00, while EUR/RUB rose 0.97% to 105.52.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 105.85.
