Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 1.12% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which rose 1.13% or 0.08 points to trade at 7.14 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged 0.89% or 0.00 points to end at 0.43 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 0.79% or 0.02 points to 2.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 4.25% or 0.58 points to trade at 13.06 in late trade. Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) declined 2.95% or 0.25 points to end at 8.06 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) shed 2.79% or 0.11 points to 3.76.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.57% or 1.91 to $76.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.76% or 1.93 to hit $71.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 14.40 to trade at $2,753.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.90.
