Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE), which rose 0.64% or 0.02 points to trade at 2.38 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) added 0.56% or 0.02 points to end at 3.58 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was unchanged 0.54% or 0.00 points to 0.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which lost 10.78% or 0.37 points to trade at 3.08 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) declined 2.43% or 0.18 points to end at 7.22 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) shed 1.54% or 0.26 points to 16.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 12 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.07% or 0.84 to $77.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.03% or 0.78 to hit $74.75 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 12.20 to trade at $2,540.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 100.97.
