Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS), which rose 1.81% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.66 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 1.41% or 0.05 points to end at 3.88 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 0.64% or 0.11 points to 17.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which lost 2.47% or 0.43 points to trade at 16.78 in late trade. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 2.29% or 0.06 points to end at 2.47 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) shed 1.39% or 0.01 points to 0.43.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 4.70% or 3.64 to $73.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.89% or 3.61 to hit $70.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 18.70 to trade at $2,684.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 102.97.
