Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.62% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 0.17% or 0.0150 points to trade at 8.7800 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) fell 0.39% or 0.0700 points to end at 17.6600 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 0.61% or 0.0060 points to 0.9810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which lost 7.74% or 0.3860 points to trade at 4.6020 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 4.66% or 0.9200 points to end at 18.8200 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 3.34% or 0.3000 points to 8.6700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 25 to 6 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.91% or 1.39 to $71.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.38% or 1.61 to hit $66.02 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.45% or 17.70 to trade at $1201.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1392, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8934.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.27.
