Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.59% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 0.75% or 0.080 points to trade at 10.720 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) added 0.21% or 0.020 points to end at 9.600 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 3.1640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which lost 4.45% or 0.2000 points to trade at 4.2960 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 3.62% or 0.3100 points to end at 8.2600 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 2.46% or 0.4350 points to 17.2500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.97% or 1.43 to $71.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.97% or 1.99 to hit $65.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.32% or 15.90 to trade at $1184.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1348, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8931.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 96.58.
