Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 1.22% or 0.0360 points to trade at 2.9880 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 0.50% or 0.0850 points to end at 17.0500 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 0.18% or 0.020 points to 11.160 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (LS:SEM), which lost 3.07% or 0.6500 points to trade at 20.5000 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 2.27% or 0.0225 points to end at 0.9675 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 1.54% or 0.0450 points to 2.8750.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.05% or 0.77 to $73.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.43% or 0.97 to hit $68.86 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1225.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1681, while EUR/GBP fell 0.38% to 0.8891.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 94.41.
