Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which rose 2.03% or 0.17 points to trade at 8.53 at the close. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) added 1.68% or 0.09 points to end at 5.13 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 1.52% or 0.28 points to 18.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which lost 11.51% or 0.32 points to trade at 2.49 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 0.49% or 0.05 points to end at 10.13 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) 0.32% or 0.00 points to 0.93.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 13 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $72.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $68.51 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.71% or 19.09 to trade at $2,657.11 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 105.81.
