Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 3.86% or 0.66 points to trade at 17.76 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 0.92% or 0.04 points to end at 4.06 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) was up 0.69% or 0.03 points to 3.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (ELI:SEM), which lost 1.64% or 0.24 points to trade at 14.36 in late trade. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 0.95% or 0.02 points to end at 2.51 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) shed 0.55% or 0.04 points to 7.24.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.72% or 1.28 to $73.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.21% or 1.58 to hit $69.98 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 3.20 to trade at $2,680.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 100.52.
