Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.20% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which unchanged 1.08% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.42 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) added 0.81% or 0.03 points to end at 3.72 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was up 0.67% or 0.06 points to 9.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS), which lost 1.53% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.55 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 0.48% or 0.07 points to end at 14.40 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) shed 0.48% or 0.08 points to 16.66.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.74% or 0.57 to $77.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.95% or 0.70 to hit $74.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 6.00 to trade at $2,533.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 101.62.
