Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.65% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 4.42% or 0.9000 points to trade at 21.2500 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 4.00% or 0.460 points to end at 11.960 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.88% or 0.0052 points to 0.2825 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 1.03% or 0.0360 points to trade at 3.4500 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 0.87% or 0.0260 points to end at 2.9580 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 8.2450.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 10 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.45% or 0.36 to $79.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $72.36 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.10 to trade at $1293.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1784, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8774.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.48.
