Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.37% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were SM Investments Corp (PS:SM), which rose 2.34% or 21.50 points to trade at 940.00 at the close. BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO) added 1.56% or 2.10 points to end at 136.50 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) was up 1.06% or 11.00 points to 1050.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which lost 1.41% or 0.65 points to trade at 45.40 in late trade. Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) declined 1.24% or 0.090 points to end at 7.180 and JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) shed 1.20% or 0.950 points to 78.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 91 and 52 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.49% or 6.28 to $1291.28 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.38% or 0.19 to hit $49.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.26 to trade at $56.05 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 1.11% to 7.8175, while USD/PHP rose 0.45% to 51.459.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 93.26.
