Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Support Services and Food Producers sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Prosus (AS:PRX), which rose 1.58% or 0.50 points to trade at 32.21 at the close. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) added 1.25% or 13.20 points to end at 1,067.60 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was up 0.97% or 5.40 points to 562.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which lost 1.80% or 0.41 points to trade at 22.33 in late trade. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) declined 1.58% or 1.80 points to end at 112.10 and IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) shed 1.27% or 1.80 points to 140.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 22 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.82% or 0.62 to $75.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.46% or 0.36 to hit $78.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.12% or 27.30 to trade at $2,459.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.50% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.07.
