Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Construction & Materials and Support Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 4.57% or 34.10 points to trade at 780.10 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 2.75% or 2.95 points to end at 110.20 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 2.52% or 0.48 points to 19.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prosus (AS:PRX), which lost 1.02% or 0.32 points to trade at 30.59 in late trade. IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) declined 1.01% or 1.40 points to end at 137.45 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 0.95% or 0.14 points to 14.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 42 and 7 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.01% or 0.74 to $73.68 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.81% or 0.62 to hit $76.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 16.70 to trade at $2,427.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 102.81.
