Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 6.49% or 1.50 points to trade at 24.63 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 5.53% or 5.70 points to end at 108.80 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 3.45% or 0.85 points to 25.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which lost 2.95% or 40.60 points to trade at 1,335.80 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.28% or 0.19 points to end at 14.98 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) shed 0.81% or 0.37 points to 45.23.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 28 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.54% or 0.39 to $72.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.63% or 0.47 to hit $75.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.02% or 27.25 to trade at $2,703.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 104.34.
