Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 2.28% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 0.73% or 0.190 points to trade at 26.290 at the close. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) added 0.61% or 0.79 points to end at 130.94 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 0.40% or 0.080 points to 20.140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 5.10% or 0.750 points to trade at 13.950 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) declined 4.62% or 3.41 points to end at 70.47 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 4.31% or 17.75 points to 394.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 259 to 36 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.47% or 6.20 to $1320.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.22% or 1.37 to hit $60.42 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $64.28 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.12% to 18.9158, while EUR/MXN rose 0.09% to 23.1658.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 90.19.
