Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Financial Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which rose 1.46% or 0.940 points to trade at 65.280 at the close. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 1.35% or 1.53 points to end at 115.28 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 0.73% or 0.19 points to 26.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 3.62% or 19.14 points to trade at 510.12 in late trade. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 3.21% or 6.00 points to end at 181.07 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 2.30% or 0.310 points to 13.160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 151 to 116 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1316.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $61.16 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $65.02 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.01% to 18.7021, while EUR/MXN rose 0.05% to 23.0147.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 90.14.
