Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which rose 1.09% or 1.51 points to trade at 139.61 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) added 1.07% or 2.64 points to end at 249.14 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) was up 0.55% or 0.81 points to 148.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which lost 3.45% or 0.40 points to trade at 11.20 in late trade. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) declined 3.42% or 5.25 points to end at 148.41 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) shed 2.90% or 1.33 points to 44.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 132 to 101 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.19% or 28.30 to $2,397.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.72% or 0.60 to hit $83.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.66 to trade at $86.77 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.07% to 18.09, while EUR/MXN rose 0.21% to 19.61.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 104.54.
