Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1), which rose 4.18% or 5.26 points to trade at 131.02 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) added 3.75% or 0.85 points to end at 23.53 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) was up 3.44% or 4.90 points to 147.46 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which lost 3.69% or 1.22 points to trade at 31.85 in late trade. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) declined 2.93% or 4.59 points to end at 152.28 and Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) shed 1.54% or 5.13 points to 328.66.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 106 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.08% or 1.95 to $2,341.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.24% or 1.83 to hit $83.37 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.93% or 1.64 to trade at $86.64 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.18% to 18.36, while EUR/MXN rose 0.40% to 19.73.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 105.50.
