Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.33% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 5.12% or 0.640 points to trade at 13.130 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 2.44% or 2.530 points to end at 106.190 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) was up 2.14% or 0.550 points to 26.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which lost 5.04% or 0.775 points to trade at 14.595 in late trade. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 4.11% or 2.290 points to end at 53.400 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) shed 3.73% or 4.06 points to 104.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 171 to 118 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.18% or 2.35 to $1291.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $52.26 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.09 to trade at $61.23 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.69% to 19.0167, while EUR/MXN rose 0.63% to 21.6601.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.710.
