Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Technology and Public Sector Undertakings sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 2.25%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 2.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were State Bank Of India (NS:SBI), which rose 4.52% or 35.30 points to trade at 816.05 at the close. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) added 4.22% or 171.75 points to end at 4,244.60 and Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN) was up 4.10% or 130.25 points to 3,308.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA), which lost 0.25% or 23.35 points to trade at 9,481.65 in late trade. HDFC Bank Ltd (NS:HDBK) added 0.25% or 4.40 points to end at 1,745.60 and Axis Bank Ltd (NS:AXBK) gained 0.29% or 3.25 points to 1,142.40.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which rose 4.34% to 814.75, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was up 3.95% to settle at 6,720.00 and Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which gained 3.91% to close at 3,303.00.
The worst performers were HDFC Bank Ltd (BO:HDBK) which was down 0.03% to 1,741.40 in late trade, Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which gained 0.27% to settle at 1,142.20 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which was up 1.30% to 1,759.55 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1713 to 732 and 180 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2292 rose and 1447 declined, while 121 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.58% to 15.58.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.29% or 34.55 to $2,709.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $70.22 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.16 to trade at $74.39 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.08% to 84.43, while EUR/INR fell 0.51% to 88.05.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 107.39.
