Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which rose 5.07% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.80 at the close. Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) added 1.90% or 0.16 points to end at 8.60 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 1.73% or 0.03 points to 1.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 2.78% or 0.10 points to trade at 3.50 in late trade. Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) declined 2.59% or 0.02 points to end at 0.71 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) shed 2.46% or 0.05 points to 1.82.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 46 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.86% or 22.89 to $2,669.19 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.41% or 0.28 to hit $69.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.23 to trade at $72.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.84% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.95% at 105.95.
