Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 10.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.200 at the close. Karatzi (AT:KRTr) added 9.38% or 0.600 points to end at 7.000 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 6.53% or 0.065 points to 1.060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 2.79% or 0.1400 points to trade at 4.8800 in late trade. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) declined 2.21% or 0.310 points to end at 13.690 and Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) shed 1.60% or 0.40 points to 24.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 86 to 20 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.18% or 2.25 to $1280.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.05% or 1.65 to hit $52.39 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.74% or 1.72 to trade at $61.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1361, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.8770.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 95.972.
