Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 7.05% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.34 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 4.73% or 0.07 points to end at 1.57 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 4.07% or 0.07 points to 1.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Premia AE (AT:PREMr), which lost 2.89% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.21 in late trade. Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) declined 2.52% or 0.28 points to end at 10.84 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) shed 1.36% or 0.04 points to 2.54.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 44 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.74% or 73.90 to $2,620.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.18% or 2.24 to hit $68.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.90% or 2.14 to trade at $71.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 105.50.
