Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iaso (AT:IASr), which rose 6.54% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.140 at the close. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) added 5.15% or 0.006 points to end at 0.127 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 4.98% or 0.0222 points to 0.4684 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Loulis Mills (AT:LOUr), which lost 3.50% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.93 in late trade. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) declined 3.28% or 0.065 points to end at 1.915 and Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT:INCr) shed 1.46% or 0.015 points to 1.010.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 34 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 4.30 to $1223.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 6.70% or 3.66 to hit $50.97 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 6.12% or 3.83 to trade at $58.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1339, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 96.815.
