Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 14.10% or 0.220 points to trade at 1.780 at the close. K.L.M. (AT:KLUr) added 8.77% or 0.050 points to end at 0.620 and Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT:INCr) was up 7.76% or 0.085 points to 1.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr), which lost 3.31% or 0.039 points to trade at 1.141 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 3.02% or 0.0012 points to end at 0.0384 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) shed 2.99% or 0.040 points to 1.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 50 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.25% or 3.25 to $1290.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.25% or 0.66 to hit $51.93 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 0.77 to trade at $60.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1474, while EUR/GBP fell 0.81% to 0.8944.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.222.
