Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were AS Company SA (AT:ASCr), which rose 2.96% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.780 at the close. Karatzi (AT:KRTr) added 2.14% or 0.150 points to end at 7.200 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was up 1.65% or 0.006 points to 0.369 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 4.72% or 0.0020 points to trade at 0.0404 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 3.48% or 0.1700 points to end at 4.7100 and European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) shed 3.09% or 0.110 points to 3.540.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 45 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.13% or 1.65 to $1281.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $53.01 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $61.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1385, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.8713.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 95.785.
