Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 2.86% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) added 1.75% or 0.140 points to end at 8.160 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 1.67% or 0.070 points to 4.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AS Company SA (AT:ASCr), which lost 4.32% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.660 in late trade. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) declined 3.57% or 0.160 points to end at 4.320 and Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) shed 3.11% or 0.045 points to 1.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 50 to 45 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.17% or 2.15 to $1281.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $52.70 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.61% or 0.37 to trade at $60.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1343, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8702.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 96.042.
