Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Food & Beverages and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Retail and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.02%, while the MDAX index fell 0.85%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 6.38% or 13.70 points to trade at 228.50 at the close. Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) added 4.93% or 2.06 points to end at 43.71 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was up 2.22% or 1.16 points to 53.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which lost 4.36% or 2.25 points to trade at 49.39 in late trade. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) declined 1.40% or 1.75 points to end at 122.90 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) shed 1.24% or 7.60 points to 605.40.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 4.01% to 12.31, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was up 3.69% to settle at 21.94 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 2.41% to close at 61.55.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 12.17% to 11.01 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 11.94% to settle at 31.33 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.59% to 11.29 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 6.38% to 228.50, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was up 4.93% to settle at 43.71 and Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which gained 3.15% to close at 49.15.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 12.17% to 11.01 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 3.59% to settle at 11.29 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 2.84% to 85.50 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 332 to 293 and 36 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.24% to 13.45.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.19% or 31.96 to $2,717.76 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.79% or 0.54 to hit $68.91 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.45 to trade at $72.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 106.18.
