Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Retail and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.07%, while the MDAX index gained 0.05%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG NA O.N. (DE:ADSGN), which rose 1.40% or 2.050 points to trade at 148.800 at the close. Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG) added 0.94% or 0.100 points to end at 10.730 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRK) was up 0.73% or 0.720 points to 99.480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which lost 3.77% or 0.600 points to trade at 15.305 in late trade. E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) declined 2.22% or 0.213 points to end at 9.379 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) shed 2.22% or 0.131 points to 5.765.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO O.N. (DE:FPEG_p) which rose 2.86% to 38.825, Brenntag AG (DE:BNRGn) which was up 1.76% to settle at 45.190 and Covestro AG (DE:1COV) which gained 1.53% to close at 42.420.
The worst performers were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 2.82% to 41.310 in late trade, Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which lost 2.52% to settle at 28.620 and Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which was down 2.19% to 8.39 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 2.58% to 57.710, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 2.42% to settle at 4.191 and Qiagen NV (DE:QGEN) which gained 2.26% to close at 24.005.
The worst performers were Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which was down 3.89% to 23.84 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which lost 3.72% to settle at 23.800 and Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which was down 1.96% to 7.853 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 462 to 416 and 31 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 17.92.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.23% or 3.15 to $1360.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.63% or 1.51 to hit $40.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.29% or 1.43 to trade at $42.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1175, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8465.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 95.61.
