Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Construction and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.92%, while the MDAX index fell 1.06%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which rose 1.85% or 2.20 points to trade at 120.85 at the close. Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) added 0.93% or 2.40 points to end at 260.40 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was up 0.70% or 0.16 points to 22.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which lost 4.68% or 1.53 points to trade at 31.28 in late trade. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) declined 3.47% or 1.18 points to end at 32.78 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) shed 3.21% or 2.24 points to 67.56.
The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which rose 4.49% to 87.25, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was up 1.21% to settle at 39.20 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which gained 0.77% to close at 104.50.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 6.60% to 15.70 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 4.95% to settle at 6.24 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 4.09% to 3.17 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which rose 0.22% to 26.74, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 0.07% to settle at 27.12 and Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which lost 0.14% to close at 141.80.
The worst performers were PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was down 6.90% to 11.88 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 6.60% to settle at 15.70 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 6.42% to 53.90 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 439 to 161 and 39 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.03% to 14.26.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 9.45 to $2,518.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.78% or 2.78 to hit $70.77 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.40% or 3.41 to trade at $74.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 101.76.
