Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Construction and Software sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.83%, while the MDAX index declined 0.55%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 2.48% or 0.78 points to trade at 32.23 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) added 1.16% or 0.30 points to end at 26.12 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) was up 0.84% or 1.70 points to 203.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which lost 3.82% or 1.20 points to trade at 30.09 in late trade. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) declined 3.29% or 1.08 points to end at 31.70 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) shed 2.71% or 0.35 points to 12.73.
The top performers on the MDAX were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which rose 5.06% to 15.58, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was up 3.23% to settle at 91.32 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which gained 2.99% to close at 120.70.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 5.82% to 60.70 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 5.45% to settle at 5.90 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 4.92% to 6.80 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 2.62% to 14.51, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was up 1.16% to settle at 26.12 and Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which gained 1.08% to close at 56.20.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 5.82% to 60.70 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 5.45% to settle at 5.90 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 4.82% to 51.30 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 411 to 194 and 31 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 13.64% to 16.21.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 2.05 to $2,525.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.81% or 0.57 to hit $69.77 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.53 to trade at $73.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 101.32.
