Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.38%, while the MDAX index fell 0.49%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 1.91% or 0.45 points to trade at 24.00 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) added 0.85% or 0.12 points to end at 13.65 and Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) was up 0.73% or 0.68 points to 93.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which lost 2.60% or 0.77 points to trade at 29.05 in late trade. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 2.60% or 6.40 points to end at 240.00 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) shed 1.88% or 1.22 points to 63.66.
The top performers on the MDAX were RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which rose 2.89% to 30.30, K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was up 2.18% to settle at 10.79 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which gained 2.09% to close at 8.20.
The worst performers were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 3.69% to 117.60 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 3.39% to settle at 15.66 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.94% to 66.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which rose 2.88% to 121.60, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 2.06% to settle at 57.00 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 0.90% to close at 26.76.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 4.74% to 17.89 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which lost 4.26% to settle at 13.49 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 3.90% to 64.00 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 378 to 248 and 28 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 9.15% to 14.63.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.09% or 2.40 to $2,608.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.39% or 0.94 to hit $68.69 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.19% or 0.85 to trade at $72.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 100.43.
