Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Transportation & Logistics and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.23%, while the MDAX index declined 0.74%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn), which rose 2.94% or 14.10 points to trade at 494.00 at the close. Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) added 2.91% or 7.30 points to end at 258.00 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) was up 1.68% or 0.45 points to 27.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which lost 3.68% or 18.40 points to trade at 481.00 in late trade. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 2.61% or 0.93 points to end at 34.69 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) shed 2.34% or 0.90 points to 37.57.
The top performers on the MDAX were Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which rose 2.53% to 75.10, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 1.82% to settle at 139.50 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which gained 0.94% to close at 64.15.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.34% to 13.30 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.28% to settle at 28.86 and Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was down 3.04% to 274.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which rose 1.68% to 27.20, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 0.74% to settle at 51.92 and Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which gained 0.45% to close at 133.80.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.34% to 13.30 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.28% to settle at 28.86 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 3.20% to 16.65 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 361 to 253 and 33 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.31% to 17.64.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.64% or 16.80 to $2,642.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.94% or 2.15 to hit $75.39 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.98% or 2.28 to trade at $78.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 102.71.
