Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.18%, while the MDAX index lost 0.81%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 2.52% or 0.40 points to trade at 16.30 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) added 1.43% or 3.00 points to end at 212.90 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) was up 1.20% or 3.70 points to 311.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which lost 2.87% or 1.35 points to trade at 45.64 in late trade. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 2.67% or 0.79 points to end at 28.77 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) shed 2.24% or 4.80 points to 209.80.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 4.68% to 11.08, Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was up 2.10% to settle at 80.10 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.10% to close at 35.08.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 4.03% to 35.98 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 3.37% to settle at 11.60 and SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR:1SXP) which was down 3.25% to 25.62 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 6.00% to 12.72, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was up 3.44% to settle at 96.20 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.10% to close at 35.08.
The worst performers were Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was down 4.99% to 40.90 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 3.37% to settle at 11.60 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 3.17% to 64.10 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 346 to 285 and 30 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.06% to 16.30.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.72% or 44.10 to $2,614.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.91% or 1.95 to hit $68.87 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.82% or 2.00 to trade at $73.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 106.24.
