Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer & Cyclical and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.59% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.82%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.98%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 8.14% or 18.70 points to trade at 248.30 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) added 6.90% or 1.05 points to end at 16.34 and Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) was up 5.33% or 9.20 points to 181.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which lost 1.61% or 7.90 points to trade at 484.30 in late trade. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) declined 1.22% or 1.50 points to end at 121.95 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) shed 0.95% or 0.32 points to 33.35.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 6.21% to 9.10, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was up 5.55% to settle at 39.97 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which gained 5.18% to close at 66.00.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 0.92% to 14.05 in late trade, Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which lost 0.70% to settle at 77.80 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 0.44% to 27.02 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 9.21% to 67.60, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was up 8.14% to settle at 248.30 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which gained 4.31% to close at 67.70.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 0.92% to 14.05 in late trade, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which lost 0.49% to settle at 26.35 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 0.44% to 27.02 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 402 to 219 and 28 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.86% to 14.95.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 5.50 to $2,690.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.18% or 1.52 to hit $68.17 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.92% or 1.40 to trade at $71.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 100.31.
