Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.26% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 1.57%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which rose 6.94% or 4.40 points to trade at 67.78 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 6.72% or 2.06 points to end at 32.69 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was up 6.59% or 2.98 points to 48.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG), which lost 1.64% or 1.65 points to trade at 98.90 in late trade. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 1.35% or 0.45 points to end at 32.90 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) shed 1.23% or 3.50 points to 281.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which rose 8.47% to 88.62, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 7.51% to settle at 70.85 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 5.66% to close at 36.94.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 3.14% to 18.53 in late trade, GEA Group AG (ETR:G1AG) which lost 1.12% to settle at 44.30 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 1.06% to 65.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 10.80% to 88.25, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 7.51% to settle at 70.85 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 6.72% to close at 32.69.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 3.14% to 18.53 in late trade, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which lost 1.63% to settle at 66.50 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 0.71% to 15.99 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 415 to 231 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.50% to 15.17.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.90% or 24.30 to $2,670.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.84% or 0.57 to hit $68.24 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.47 to trade at $71.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 100.18.
