Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Software, Transportation & Logistics and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.97%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.43%, and the TecDAX index added 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 5.12% or 1.30 points to trade at 26.69 at the close. Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) added 2.68% or 5.70 points to end at 218.50 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) was up 2.50% or 0.98 points to 40.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which lost 1.97% or 4.90 points to trade at 244.30 in late trade. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined 1.59% or 1.06 points to end at 65.72 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) shed 1.52% or 0.80 points to 51.90.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 5.00% to 15.77, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 4.88% to settle at 122.40 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 3.16% to close at 27.75.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 2.87% to 55.75 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which lost 2.08% to settle at 2.68 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which was down 1.73% to 36.29 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 5.00% to 15.77, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 3.06% to settle at 16.17 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 2.82% to close at 11.67.
The worst performers were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 3.88% to 66.90 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 2.87% to settle at 55.75 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 1.97% to 244.30 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 396 to 226 and 26 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.84% to 17.67.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.48% or 37.60 to $2,580.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.12% or 2.10 to hit $69.41 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.62% or 1.85 to trade at $72.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 101.49.
