Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Chemicals and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.92%, while the MDAX index added 1.36%, and the TecDAX index added 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 10.30% or 2.20 points to trade at 23.55 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 9.44% or 2.52 points to end at 29.21 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 4.17% or 0.63 points to 15.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn), which lost 1.02% or 0.41 points to trade at 39.81 in late trade. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) declined 0.42% or 0.21 points to end at 49.79 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) shed 0.21% or 0.35 points to 168.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which rose 5.49% to 2.98, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 4.75% to settle at 8.03 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which gained 4.63% to close at 36.17.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 2.52% to 100.40 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 1.16% to settle at 68.00 and Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which was down 0.47% to 17.06 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which rose 5.19% to 11.76, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 4.31% to settle at 6.30 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 4.21% to close at 14.84.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 1.16% to 68.00 in late trade, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which lost 0.45% to settle at 66.60 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was down 0.42% to 49.79 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 446 to 157 and 27 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.87% to 16.10.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.21% or 31.35 to $2,611.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.49% or 0.34 to hit $69.31 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.31 to trade at $72.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 101.06.
