Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Retail and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.67% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.24%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 2.95% or 1.52 points to trade at 53.02 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) added 2.85% or 1.80 points to end at 64.88 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 2.68% or 0.40 points to 15.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which lost 2.08% or 4.50 points to trade at 212.10 in late trade. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 1.26% or 0.40 points to end at 31.34 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) shed 0.74% or 1.05 points to 139.95.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which rose 11.05% to 84.40, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 10.93% to settle at 13.09 and Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) which gained 5.31% to close at 8.33.
The worst performers were SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR:1SXP) which was down 5.36% to 26.46 in late trade, Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which lost 3.29% to settle at 49.32 and Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was down 3.07% to 189.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which rose 4.30% to 16.01, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 4.18% to settle at 13.95 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 2.89% to close at 12.12.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 2.08% to 212.10 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 2.05% to settle at 88.40 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 1.46% to 101.00 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 362 to 248 and 41 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.97% to 13.81 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.70% or 18.81 to $2,657.39 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $68.45 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $72.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 105.83.
