Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Insurance and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.38%, while the MDAX index gained 0.65%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn), which rose 2.29% or 5.30 points to trade at 236.50 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 1.90% or 10.40 points to end at 558.00 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was up 1.83% or 3.90 points to 217.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which lost 5.70% or 1.84 points to trade at 30.45 in late trade. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 2.91% or 0.36 points to end at 12.02 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) shed 2.05% or 0.47 points to 22.41.
The top performers on the MDAX were Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which rose 6.50% to 71.25, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was up 6.36% to settle at 18.06 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 2.70% to close at 21.65.
The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 6.34% to 3.09 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 1.77% to settle at 6.33 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 1.60% to 135.20 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which rose 6.36% to 18.06, 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was up 3.83% to settle at 13.02 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 2.24% to close at 89.05.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 4.66% to 73.70 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which lost 2.95% to settle at 28.26 and PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was down 1.39% to 14.18 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 334 to 275 and 32 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.89% to 17.98.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.99% or 24.90 to $2,482.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.92% or 0.72 to hit $77.63 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.33 to trade at $80.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 102.31.
