Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Telecom and Food & Beverage sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.44% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.04%, and the TecDAX index added 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (XETRA:DTEGn), which rose 1.69% or 0.265 points to trade at 15.915 at the close. Bay.Motoren Werke AG ST (XETRA:BMWG) added 1.51% or 1.650 points to end at 111.100 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DPWGn) was up 1.45% or 0.425 points to 29.635 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG), which lost 4.25% or 0.590 points to trade at 13.295 in late trade. Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (XETRA:MUVGn) declined 1.54% or 2.800 points to end at 178.500 and K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGN) shed 1.16% or 0.335 points to 28.515.
The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (XETRA:RHMG) which rose 2.79% to 44.610, Aareal Bank AG (XETRA:ARLG) which was up 1.44% to settle at 36.520 and Tui AG NA (XETRA:TUIGn) which gained 1.39% to close at 16.050.
The worst performers were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:FPEG_p) which was down 5.32% to 37.485 in late trade, Rhoen-Klinikum O.N. (XETRA:RHKG) which lost 1.72% to settle at 22.015 and STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (XETRA:STAGn) which was down 1.19% to 28.320 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which rose 6.67% to 37.980, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:SATG_p) which was up 3.88% to settle at 121.750 and LPKF Laser & Electronics (XETRA:LPKG) which gained 3.82% to close at 12.490.
The worst performers were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) which was down 7.83% to 75.950 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (XETRA:S92G) which lost 4.59% to settle at 12.365 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which was down 2.09% to 112.550 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 431 to 303 and 33 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.00% to 18.89.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.07% or 0.80 to $1208.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $51.81 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.43 to trade at $60.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1362, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.7390.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 94.47.
