Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Aerospace & Defense, Gas & Water and Support Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.13%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR), which rose 2.57% or 0.36 points to trade at 14.16 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 1.43% or 1.02 points to end at 72.46 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) was up 1.05% or 0.82 points to 79.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which lost 1.79% or 2.35 points to trade at 128.80 in late trade. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) declined 1.24% or 1.74 points to end at 138.82 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) shed 0.91% or 0.10 points to 10.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 4.42% to 4.16, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was up 4.10% to settle at 8.22 and Spie SA (EPA:SPIE) which gained 3.81% to close at 36.50.
The worst performers were Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was down 2.81% to 9.67 in late trade, Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which lost 1.96% to settle at 8.99 and Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which was down 1.82% to 39.65 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 246 to 211 and 123 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.94% or 24.05 to $2,536.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.41% or 1.83 to hit $74.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.92% or 1.51 to trade at $77.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 101.58.
