Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech, Leisure Goods and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.58%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 4.03% or 1.78 points to trade at 46.00 at the close. Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) added 1.42% or 31.00 points to end at 2,209.00 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was up 1.42% or 10.30 points to 736.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which lost 9.41% or 14.00 points to trade at 134.78 in late trade. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 3.28% or 6.75 points to end at 199.25 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) shed 1.93% or 3.05 points to 155.05.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 11.13% to 1.20, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which was up 4.03% to settle at 46.00 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which gained 2.89% to close at 2.35.
The worst performers were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) which was down 9.41% to 134.78 in late trade, Trigano SA (EPA:TRIA) which lost 5.92% to settle at 112.90 and Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was down 4.39% to 8.60 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 333 to 179 and 98 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.33% or 7.80 to $2,336.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.64% or 0.52 to hit $81.11 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.59 to trade at $84.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.34.
