Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Leisure Goods, Banking and Gas & Water sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 3.07%, while the SBF 120 index gained 2.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor (PARIS:ACCP), which rose 5.03% or 2.23 points to trade at 46.58 at the close. Orange SA (PARIS:ORAN) added 4.91% or 0.67 points to end at 14.32 and AXA SA (PARIS:AXAF) was up 4.16% or 0.92 points to 23.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Technip (PARIS:TECF), which added 0.55% or 0.28 points to trade at 50.89 in late trade. Valeo (PARIS:VLOF) added 0.65% or 0.85 points to end at 132.00 and Michelin (PARIS:MICP) gained 0.78% or 0.73 points to 94.15.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (PARIS:UBIP) which rose 12.33% to 16.850, Aperam (AMS:APAM) which was up 6.22% to settle at 35.84 and Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) which gained 5.36% to close at 36.690.
The worst performers were CGG (PARIS:GEPH) which was down 0.31% to 4.50 in late trade, Biomerieux (PARIS:BIOX) which lost 0.18% to settle at 98.14 and Vallourec (PARIS:VLLP) which was up 0.18% to 16.91 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 662 to 146 and 50 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 12.55% to 27.54.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.08% or 0.90 to $1160.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $52.70 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.01 to trade at $58.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.96% to 1.1143, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.7195.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.59% at 96.10.
