Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.32%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which rose 3.97% or 8.45 points to trade at 221.15 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.93% or 0.89 points to end at 23.51 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was up 2.90% or 0.26 points to 9.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thales (EPA:TCFP), which lost 1.85% or 2.90 points to trade at 153.60 in late trade. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 0.69% or 0.62 points to end at 89.82 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) shed 0.23% or 0.50 points to 218.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which rose 11.55% to 21.92, SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was up 9.67% to settle at 22.46 and Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which gained 6.56% to close at 5.00.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 36.43% to 0.19 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 6.62% to settle at 5.84 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 2.98% to 3.52 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 275 to 204 and 101 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.28% or 7.20 to $2,579.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.26% or 0.18 to hit $68.61 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.22 to trade at $72.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 106.47.
