Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3), which rose 2.66% or 0.62 points to trade at 23.89 at the close. Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3) added 2.54% or 0.34 points to end at 13.73 and 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3) was up 2.21% or 0.38 points to 17.57 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3), which lost 3.63% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.72 in late trade. YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) declined 3.59% or 0.38 points to end at 10.20 and Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3) shed 3.06% or 0.82 points to 25.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 526 to 402 and 59 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.44% to 32.24.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.60% or 16.15 to $2,707.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.55% or 0.39 to hit $70.78 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.67% or 4.32 to trade at $253.68 .
USD/BRL was down 0.14% to 5.66, while EUR/BRL fell 0.36% to 6.13.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 103.61.
