Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Consumption and Electric Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which rose 4.87% or 0.29 points to trade at 6.24 at the close. Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) added 1.69% or 0.11 points to end at 6.61 and JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3) was up 1.67% or 0.52 points to 31.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3), which lost 8.00% or 0.65 points to trade at 7.47 in late trade. Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) declined 3.87% or 0.19 points to end at 4.72 and Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) shed 3.76% or 0.05 points to 1.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 535 to 422 and 59 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.62% to 27.30.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 13.70 to $2,654.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.25% or 0.17 to hit $68.35 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.08% or 2.90 to trade at $272.05 .
USD/BRL was up 0.27% to 5.45, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.06% to 6.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 100.50.
