Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Financials and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.32% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3), which rose 7.45% or 1.95 points to trade at 28.11 at the close. Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) added 2.98% or 0.18 points to end at 6.23 and Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3) was up 2.55% or 0.08 points to 3.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which lost 5.70% or 0.34 points to trade at 5.63 in late trade. Ez Tec SA (BVMF:EZTC3) declined 4.21% or 0.59 points to end at 13.41 and MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3) shed 3.91% or 0.28 points to 6.88.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 578 to 370 and 50 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.54% to 28.71.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.85% or 23.35 to $2,762.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.96% or 1.37 to hit $71.41 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.11% or 2.80 to trade at $248.90 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.05% to 5.69, while EUR/BRL fell 0.11% to 6.15.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.90.
