Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3), which rose 8.70% or 0.22 points to trade at 2.75 at the close. Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) added 8.65% or 0.43 points to end at 5.40 and Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3) was up 6.26% or 0.59 points to 10.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3), which lost 3.44% or 1.86 points to trade at 52.15 in late trade. Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF:RADL3) declined 2.84% or 0.74 points to end at 25.28 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:RENT3) shed 1.52% or 0.67 points to 43.53.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 616 to 368 and 54 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.95% to 29.43.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 3.11% or 85.10 to $2,652.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.05% or 2.17 to hit $69.07 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.47% or 4.43 to trade at $306.53 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.04% to 5.80, while EUR/BRL rose 0.49% to 6.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 106.86.
